Classical Ballet

At VLDA all age groups are taught in the Cecchetti Method from Pre Primary (Kindergarten) to Advanced 1 and 2 (Pre-professional level). We offer annual examinations at all levels. We offer many performance opportunities for our talented ballet students: the Cecchetti Medal Tests for Cecchetti ballet students aged 9 and up, the Cecchetti Choreographic Competition for our ballet students from the age of 10 and up (where students choreograph and perform their own ballet piece). We prepare our talented senior students (Intermediate and Advanced 1 and 2 students) for the Cecchetti Lucie Saranova Medal competition. All our talented ballet students have the opportunity to dance in one of our Classical eisteddfod groups (subject to audition) and as eisteddfod soloists (subject to selection). Our talented ballet students can audition for a place in the prestigious Cecchetti Scholars program (Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels) which provide these select groups ballet classes given by Ballet professionals throughout the year. Our annual VLDA dance concert showcases the considerable talent of our ballet students.

Our ballet classes are taught by our talented and highly qualified teaching staff to the recreational student and to those pursuing a career in classical ballet. We are well known in Manly, Northern Beaches and throughout the Sydney region for providing excellent ballet training. We provide it to every VLDA student in a nurturing and positive environment.
